In addition to our products, Wrisley Abrasives is pleased to offer several services to meet our customers' ever-changing needs.
Strip and Replate
Electroplated diamond and CBN tools are made up of a single layer of abrasive. Once the abrasive no longer performs within tolerance and/or specification, the tool can be sent back to the factory to be refurbished. The abrasive will be chemically stripped off and new abrasive added. A stripped and replated tool will perform like a new tool but at a fraction of the cost and lead time.
Truing/Dressing of Bonded Tools
As a bonded tool wears, it loses its shape and, at times, its ability to remove stock efficiently. Customers can send bonded tools back to the factory for reconditioning. When possible, tools will be reshaped while exposing new diamond with sharper cutting edges. All this is done while removing the least amount of abrasive possible.
